I just got an email from the CRA saying that I received a benefit 2 years ago that I was not supposed to and that it needs to be paid back with interest- the issue lies in the fact that it was never revealed to me that I owed this money until 2 years after the fact, so how am I being charged interest on it? Add to that the fact that the notice I got from the CRA is dated Jul. 24th, a solid 9 days in the future from when I received it.

As per the CRA, their goal is to send you a notice of assessment, as well as any refund, within: two weeks, when you file online eight weeks, when you file a paper return 16 weeks, when you file a non-resident return These timelines apply to returns that are received on or before the due date. Also, the CRA may take longer to process your return if it is selected for a more detailed review.

Hi - while I’m not certain this is your answer - the source code is drawing from a data table from CRA so it’s probably not a glitch but a carry forward amount from previous years.  Unfortunately, trying to get that info out of CRA is fruitless.   You need to go back through previous years and consider if there is absolutely anything e.g. an RRSP over contribution in another year perhaps?

I have the same problem. I have received a notice from CRA (July 2025) asking for support for the Other Deductions amount in line 23200. I can find nothing to support the amount. The return says "see schedule" but there is no schedule. The "Other Deductions" tab in turbotax is two pages of zeros. None of the things itemized by CRA seem to apply to me. I don't think I have any option other than responding to CRA that this seems to be a glitch in turbotax.

If I have to travel at least 40km to obtain medical service and cra list these requirements listed below.   Substantially equivalent medical services were not available near your home. You took a reasonably direct travelling route. It is reasonable, under the circumstances, for you to have travelled to that place to get those medical services.   What does substantially equivalent medical service mean? Does it mean it only applies when service does not exist at my area and only at least 40km away? Also when I claim the amount could I claim both ways or is it only one way?
