I posted this in a different thread but will repost here.
Error 95365 only occurs if you have a capital loss from T5008 and a capital gain from a T3 in box 21. The T3 amount is supposed to transfer into box 68140 on Chart A. This does not happen if box 1 in Chart A is a negative number.
I did the following:
1) delete all T5008 info and left the T3 box 21 number intact. In this case box 68140 is correctly pulling box 21 from the T3. Box 1 in Chart A is a positive number.
2) Add in a T5008 stock with a capital gain. In this case Chart A also populates correctly. Box 1 is positive.
3) Now add a capital loss stock in T5008 such that the total in T5008 is a capital loss. In this case box 68140 in Chart A is now blank and incorrect. Box 1 in Chart A is showing as a negative number.
What I did notice is that in the third case above when the problem occurs Chart A box 1 shows a negative number. The description for box 1 says if the number is negative it is to be shown in brackets. Could this be the programming error - that the negative number should be shown in brackets?
What will turbo tax do for it's clients that are locked out of being able to refile their taxes because of this error in your software?
Check out this thread with update from Intuit:
I called yesterday Apr 7 and was told a fix would be done by end of day and to try April 8
i tried still no fix case #[phone number removed] im getting a little fed up with this.
As of today my line 68140 remains at zero, even though all line 21’s on my t3 are inputted. No updates to software when I checked.
this isn’t a cra issue. The turbo tax form isn’t copying the number over and I can’t force the number.
eta to fix?????
Contrary to the email sent out by Turbotax. This issue remains unresolved. Basically the total value of Box 21 on T3s needs to show up on Line 68140. Because it doesn't, this is rejected by CRA. This looks like a TurboTax problem, not a CRA problem.
The CRA has announced systems tax calculator errors that may affect your ability to file. These errors are affecting all CRA certified tax software across Canada.
TurboTax is in direct contact with senior Government of Canada officials at CRA, underscoring the urgent need for accountability and decisive action to resolve these issues for our customers and all Canadians.
If you see one of these error codes, please visit What does my NETFILE error code mean and how do I fix it?
Error codes: 2508, 2515, 45555, 45566, 90308, 95031, 95033, 95034, 95365, and 99915.
Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
The fix posted in the link below does not work for error code 95365. This is not a CRA problem, this is a Turbo Tax problem, we have paid for your program and it doesn't work. What is being done to correct this and when will this be fixed? I am required to pay and file my taxes by April 30th, 2025 and Turbo Tax is preventing me from doing this. You posted a resolution on April 7th, 2025 that does not work. This is unacceptable.
Netfile Error Codes and What To Do
This is an obvious misdirection.
Had you not locked the other thread then I would have reinforced that Form T936 worked correctly last year for those of us with capital losses on the T5008 but capital gains on Box 21 of T3s. I have screenshots of both for proof.
Let me guess, you've outsourced your programmers to a "cheaper" source to increase your bottom line.
This is clearly a turbotax issue. Take some accountability and reimburse those of us who spent countless hours digging into your software issue, which we all paid to avoid.
