When entering a T3 slip splitting 50/50 with my spouse the amounts entered in boxes 52 and 53 do not split and when looking at Schedule 3 and Lines 17599 and 17600 the amounts from 52 and 53 are on mine, the full amount and on spouses shows 0.00 for both period #1 and #2. All the other Capital amounts listed on our T5008's split as entered on a 50/50 basis.
Why is this not splitting the amounts?
Thanks for looking into this for me and I imagine others.
PS I have the latest version of TurboTax as of today, Mar 22/25
@patej The issue is being looked into by our development team
As a workaround, you can enter the T3 on both spouse's return, but manually calculate the split and set the "Your Percentage" value to 100% for each. The "Your Percentage" value just tell TurboTax to do the split, it's not transmitted to the CRA.
As a workaround you have suggested to manually calculate the split.
In my example I have got one T3 with filled boxes 49,50,51,21,37 and 58,52,53 and
another T3 with filled boxes 49,50,51,21, 34,37 and 25,58,52,59,53
Which information in which exactly boxes do you split 50/50 between the spouses? Do you have to split information in all the boxes?
For the error on the T3 slip not balancing box 52+53 to equal box 21A, trying to enter the sum of 52+53 into box 53 (deleting 52) should fix the problem.
