When you receive communication from the Accuracy Guarantee team, the email will come from them directly, not from a TurboTax email account but from accuracyguarantee.

Please keep an eye out for the email and check your junk mail.

Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

Update:  This same Glitch made it to Global News.  Look it up on YouTube.

The folks who were on the news report are in the same boat.  They are getting nowhere.  Software calculated my wife's income instead of family income.

I CAN CONFIRM THE GLITCH STILL EXISTS AS I PAID AND DOWNLOADED THE SOFTWARE AGAIN THIS YEAR TO DO MY 2024 TAXES. (I KNOW IM A SUCKER FOR PUNISHMENT)

I keep following up with Brenda from turbo tax and there is no solution.

I will be consulting a lawyer this weekend.

I will ask about a class action law suit too.

Also, weird I got an email from turbo tax that they are experiencing calculation error with their software I purchased.

Not sure if it is related.

I received that same email tonight.

I will check YouTube for Global news report.

I think that Pat Foran from CTV news would be the perfect person to report it to.

I just checked out that Global News  report on YouTube regarding that Turbo Tax GLITCH. Very interesting! Please keep me posted on what your lawyer says or about class action law suit.

Thank you

I work in the software industry, and I have to say this loud and clear: this is a bug in TurboTax, full stop.

If a form is meant to be explicitly filled out by the user, then there should be no pre-filled data whatsoever. Pre-filling it creates a false sense of accuracy, especially when that data is wrong or incomplete. This is a basic principle of form design and user experience, and it's baffling that a company like Intuit would overlook it.

Even worse, defaulting to the lower individual income when family income should be used is just plain incorrect. That’s not just poor design — it’s a critical logical flaw. For a platform that's meant to guide users through tax filing (something with major financial implications), this kind of oversight is unacceptable.

This is a clear missed use case that absolutely should have been caught in QA or user testing. The fact that this bug is still present in the latest version of the software is frankly outrageous. It shows a lack of attention to detail and a disregard for the real-world impact this has on users.

We’re not talking about a minor UI bug here. This affects tax outcomes. It can lead to incorrect filings, missed credits, and real financial consequences.

For those that come across this thread, here is the link to the youtube where other customers speak about this issue.

3 of my wife and my returns (2021-2023) got re-assessed and we have to pay back almost 16k now with interest!  All this because even tho we have two incomes plastered all over our returns, when that CARE credit pops up they hide that form in the background and the lower income person has to manually put the others income when we file our returns together….they  know we’re married and live in the same house and take care of our kids.  There’s no checks and balances with the software and they let you file it when clearly it should raise a flag.   Worse part is CRA is like “maybe you can sell a boat or motorcycle” to pay it back.  Wow!  Maybe I should also sell the furs and paintings I don’t have to pay this back when it should have never got to us because of this major software glitch.

Ridiculous, so if anyone is filing a class action please let me know we will sign up for that in a second.
