I submitted my taxes for about the 15th year with turbo tax. I have never had any issues until these last two filing years. My W-2's automatically gets transferred over from the IRS and this past two years it has been changed and my income tax was held. It got released the first year after realizing that it was wrong. Then this year it happened again. I trust turbotax and have been doing this the same way so I'm not sure what was going on. I have now been waiting over 200 days for my tax return to be released to me. This needs to be fixed. Now I am put into a financial bind because of this. I will be saying that I will no longer be using TurboTax.

No matter what your age is, if you are working you will still have to have tax withheld for Social Security and Medicare --  even if you are receiving Social Security benefits.   People get very confused about this.   If you are not yet at full retirement age, then your SS benefits can be reduced if you continue to work and earn above a certain amount.  For 2025, that amount is $23,400.   If you are at or past full retirement age, your benefits are not reduced by your earnings, but you will still always have to pay in to Social Security and Medicare if you are working.
Turbo Tax wrongly assumes that all my income is foreign, including my w2 and self-employed side hustle. Why can't I make these clear distinctions in the software?

The easiest way to make an estimated tax payment is to use Direct Pay on the IRS website.

All Roth conversions are required to be reported on Form 8606 Part II whether or not any traditional IRA basis is involved.

@ joeyscottnoise wrote:  I can't get past step one to get to my refund info I'm stuck on the steps page   Steps to what???   What are you doing?   Are you trying to use the IRS "Where's My Refund" tool, and it can't find your info?    Or are you referring to "steps" in the FILE section of Online TurboTax?    I'll take a guess at what that means, but if my answer is not what you wanted, you need to explain more so that someone can hopefully help you.   If that's what you mean (i.e., if you've filed, and the IRS refund tool can't find it), then first, you need to be sure the return was successfully filed. It depends on how you chose to file the return.   If you filed a paper return by mail, TurboTax does not mail it for you.  If you chose that method, you would have had to print it, sign it, date it, and mail it yourself.  It takes at least 4 weeks for a mailed return to show up in the IRS WMR tool.     If you efiled, double-check to be sure the return was efiled successfully and accepted.  If you used Online TurboTax, you can sign into your Online Account and check the efile status at the Tax Home.   What word is used there for the status:  accepted, rejected, printed, started, ready to mail, or something else? If that showed it was accepted, (or if you mailed a paper return), you can use the "Where's My Refund" tool at the IRS website below to monitor the status of your Federal refund.   Is there any message there? https://www.irs.gov/wheres-my-refund   If that IRS tool says it's not finding your information, here are some tips:   Be sure you enter the correct tax year, SSN, and filing status. Be sure you are using only the Federal refund amount.   Do not include any state refund or any total refund or net refund (Fed and State) that TurboTax may have provided on a summary screen.   Look at your actual Federal return to get the Federal refund amount to use in the tool, i.e., your Form 1040, Line 35a.
I filed 2024 tax but I don't see any upcoming deposit schedules for GST/HST, CCR, OTB for 2025-2026. That means I won't get any of them?

@DavidRaz  thank you for the details with the dummy figures.   While I am not familiar with the Apple/ MAC  product, but looking at the numbers something is not right. To be exact,   1.   Income from ALL sources should be the same as  form 1040 line 9  i.e. before adjustments -- that is the gross income from all sources for the tax year.   So I don't understand the figure of $70,000 , unless it is ignoring the deferred Comp ( NQDC) amount of $103,000 from your world income for the tax year.  Since I don't know the product , I cannot show a way around.  I know for the windows version ( of Home &  Business that I use ), I can go to the forms mode and modify the form 1116 worksheet -- this is editable.   I will let some body familiar with MAC product answer

Sorry it's too, late to start a 2023 or prior online return or use the mobile app, either on Turbo Tax or the IRS. And too late to efile 2023. To do a prior year return you have to buy the Desktop program here, https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products You will need a full Windows or Mac to install it on.   If you have a simple return and want to file for free you can fill out the forms by hand.  Here are some basic forms..... Here is the 2023 1040 return https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040--2023.pdf or if you want bigger type use 1040SR for Seniors, https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040s--2023.pdf 2023 1040 Instructions https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/i1040gi--2023.pdf 2023 EIC and Tax Tables https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/i1040tt--2023.pdf Schedules 1-3 https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040s1--2023.pdf https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040s2--2023.pdf https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040s3--2023.pdf Don’t forget your state. And you will have to print and mail your returns.  So be sure to attach copies of your W2s and any 1099s that have withholding on them.  You have to mail federal and state in separate envelopes because they go to different places.  Get a tracking number from the post office when you mail them for proof of filing. Then when you file for 2024 you need to enter 0 for the 2023 AGI since you are filing 2023 late.
