25300 not working in 2024 Standard Desktop version

https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/individuals/topics/about-your-tax-return/tax-re...

The above link clearly outlines the use of line 25300 in the case where the taxpayer does not have pre-1985 loss records.  My case.

However, when I double-click on line 25300, I am taken to a field in the Loss worksheet requiring a pre-1985 amount of unapplied losses!  Why??  I cannot get past this roadblock.  The best I can do as a workaround,  is to enter the pre-1985 amount - but then I am only allowed to claim $2000.

In searching for related posts - one suggested clearing out the data and doing it again.  I opened a new Tax return with no data, added a T5008 slip and tried to claim line 25300 and still had the same issue.

BTW - is this post getting through to TurboTax support?   I cannot tell from the web site which does not make a method for raising a support issue clear.

What do I need to do to get a answer?

OK.  Figured it out.  The problem is that double-clicking the 25300 line brings the user the wrong place in the Loss worksheet.   While not a high priority Bug, it is at least a medium priority Enhancement request (the "Enhancement" being having the software go to the correct place when line 25300 is double-clicked).  I am hoping Nazisa will communicate this to the design team.

BTW, the correct place to go (for I expect 99.9% of people) is line 7 - above the chart the software takes you to.   There is a tricky bit here, in that if there is pre-1985 unapplied losses, the correct place to go is to "Step 1" that deals with lines 1, 2 and 3.

Tip - never try and get call center support afterhours.  Nazisa was very good,  but my experience afterhours were very bad.
