My school board provided me with a letter stating the amount per year, but only gave me the one number and did not clarify if it was with interest.
It was determined that the Tax File was corrupt and resolved by starting over as a new return.

Thank you for replying. With all due respect, does it matter what, if anything, was changed?  The point it that TurboTax's calculations and conclusions were way off.  Shouldn't TurboTax be accurate? Why would the CRA need to change anything if TurboTax had been accurate in the first place?
It would depend on what you agreed on. If you both agreed that only one of you would claim the dependant, then the other doesn't need to enter the child's info on their return.
To do this if you're using TurboTax Online, click on 2024 Tax Returns on the top left to go to the main page. Then click Personal Info, then Edit.
Can you please provide more information about your problem? What is the exact error message that you are getting? Are you using TurboTax Desktop or TurboTax Online?

I had first filled in the "foreign tax credit" form, then saw a warning sign that I also needed to fill in the "foreign income" form, so I did. After I did that, when before I didn't owe any taxes to Canada, all of a sudden I do now own, despite the fact, that this foreign income is taxed outside Canada already. So am I getting double-taxed? As there is no deduction to be seen under "foreign tax credit".
