Ive been using turbo tax for years and buy it at costco.
Did so again this year but it only encloses a card with an activation code.
Tried unsuccessfully to activate it but it does not seem to be responding correctly. I cannot get through even the username pr create a new account
I purchased Turbotax Deluxe online edition for my taxes. I've used this every year, I'm familiar with how to use the software. I went to the activate site, followed the instructions and entered my code. However, I was put into an endless loop where it tells me i need to sign into my account or a new account, that my activation code can only be used for this account. my options are sign into a new account or skip file transfer which the most stupid thing ever. I thought I was in MY ACCOUNT, why am I being prompted to sign into another account or skip file transfer? I have no idea where my account is with the activation code I originally entered. I can't get back and now if I try to do my taxes it tells me I have to PAY.??? what is going on?
@matkell Make sure you are logging into the right account. Use this link to retrieve the right account information: Let's get you signed in
The code can be activated and linked to one account only.
To activate your TurboTax Online version, please visit this link. Select that "I have an account," log into your account, and proceed to the second step by adding your 16-digit activation code to review and activate the TurboTax Online product.
I bought a standard TurboTax from Costco and it rejected ny activation code. I am stuck. It only prompts me to buy the online service. Very frustrating.
@zwingy22 If you have purchased a Standard Desktop version, you do need to install it by using this link: https://turbotax.intuit.ca/tax/software/desktop
