Why is my Activation code not working ? I bought the turbotax on line at Costco, just opened it and the site is telling me there is something wrong with my code
and Yes I checked that I am on the ON LINE activation page
and tried enter it 3 times, counter verified the code as well
First, please make sure that you have purchased the right product. The codes for TurboTax Online will not work with TurboTax Desktop & vice-versa.
Second, if you bought TurboTax at a retailer (Costco, Walmart, Staples, etc…), please make sure that you are using the code that came in the package. It may be on a slip of paper or on a scratch-off card. It is not on the outside of the box or on your receipt.
If you have bought TurboTax Online, please go to turbotax.ca/activate to use your code before you start your returns. Using the code again will give an error message.
If you have bought TurboTax Desktop, you will be asked for the licence code when you install the software. Please see this TurboTax FAQ for more information on the licence code: Where is my TurboTax licence code? You can download the current version of TurboTax Desktop edition here: Choose the current TurboTax Desktop edition you need (for Windows). I purchased TurboTax, Home and Business instore at Costco. I attempted to download the product online however, it did not accept the activation code even after entering it correctly no less than 7 times. I tried calling the support number [phone number removed] and spoke to a Bot who grossly misspelled my name even after spelling it out 5 separate times. The Bot finally transferred me to a representative however the phone hung up on me after 2 rings. I would like some answers from TurboTax please.
@IrvH With TurboTax Desktop, you will be asked for the licence code after you have downloaded the software and when you are installing it. You don't need to enter the code to download the installation file.
