Brand new from Costco Canada. Every time I use the code it comes up with Error code 606. The code has never been used before. HELP!!! SO frustrating when this doesn't work and you cannot talk to a person!!!
Since tax year 2020, there is a difference between a License Code (for Desktop) and an Activation Code (for Online). This error code 606 means you are trying to enter a Code for TurboTax Online in a Desktop software (or vice-versa).
We understand, sometimes, this can be confusing but, on the box (or on the retailer website), you have to choose between TurboTax Online and TurboTax Desktop. They are not the same software and codes from one cannot be used in the other one.
If on the box it's TurboTax Online, you can activate your code to your account on this link.
If on the box it's TurboTax Desktop, you can download/install your software from this link.
If you bought the wrong version, you can get a refund and then buy the one you need. by using this form to get a refund. Make sure to add a clear photo of your receipt, showing the name of the store, the date, the product bought and the price paid.

@farmgal791 You've got the Desktop version. Online doesn't need to be downloaded and will work on more than just Windows PCs.
With TurboTax Desktop, you will be asked for the licence code when you install the software. Please see this TurboTax FAQ for more information on the licence code: Where is my TurboTax licence code? I'm also receiving the error code 606 when I try to activate TurboTax. In the past, I have been using TurboTax deluxe software that requires you to install and activate with a code, then you input your numbers from all slips and then you have the ability to Netfile all returns. Because I'm having problems activating, I'm now wondering if I purchased the correct TurboTax... I purchased the Deluxe Online Edition from Costco last month but I threw away the receipt. Can I request a refund from TurboTax or can I return to Costco?
