On the Québec return, why is the amount claimed for the taxable capital gains deduction greater than the amount reported, causing a NETFILE error?   This is a known NETFILE issue when trying to file a TP1 return to Revenue Quebec for tax year 2024 through TurboTax Desktop.   When going through the review section, the amount claimed for the taxable capital gains deduction is greater than the amount of capital gains reported, or there is no eligible capital gain for this deduction. This makes the return ineligible for NETFILE Québec.    To work around this error, input $1 on line 58 of Schedule G to clear this validation.   Expected date for resolution: May 8, 2025

@140Aviator @Nana171 Please check that you have selected a "Type Of Income" & entered a date of disposition on your T5008 slips.

@hjohannsen  From TurboTax Online's T5013 page: Source country of foreign income - definition Enter the country where the income was generated or earned. If the income is from a global fund (possibly from more than one country) or if you don't know which country the income is from, enter Global.   So you can combine the amounts in Box 135.

It depends. If the stock disposition is reported on a tax slip, then it should be available to download using Auto-Fill. You can check in your CRA MyAccount to see if the slip is there. If it is, you can use auto-fill again to add it to your tax return.   If there was no slip issued, then you'd have to enter the stock disposition manually in the Capital Gains section.    Either way, if you have already NETFILE'd your return and need to add this info, you would need to do a ReFile, as soon as possible to add it. This TurboTax Canada FAQ tells you how you use ReFile: I've filed my tax return. Can I still make changes?

It would depend on what the discrepancy is. It could be as simple as you did Auto-Fill before a tax slip was available, and so it was left off your return. In that case the fault might have been with the tax slip issuer being late - not the CRA or the software.

In Manitoba, there is a Manitoba Renters' Tax Credit. I spoke to CRA this morning, and I qualify (as I have for years). It is on form MB479, lines 61165 and 61167. However, it is not appearing on Turbotax and there is no place to input the info, such as my rent, the landlord's name, etc. Why is this not appearing in Turbotax? How can I access this form from Turbotax to add to the rest of my tax form?

While it can be frustrating, it’s common for the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) to make a tax return assessment that is different from yours.     The reasons for these discrepancies may vary, and can range from very simple (typo or data entry error, forgotten slip, receipt, amount, etc) to complex (carry-forward amounts not included, accounting errors, etc).    In most cases, the CRA will explain how they calculated your tax refund or balance owing, and you can find this information on your Notice of Assessment (NOA), under the heading Explanation of changes and other important information. Compare the line numbers on your NOA and their corresponding values with those entered into TurboTax.
